Job Overview
CVAUSA is seeking a skilled Practice Controller to join our team in the Orlando, FL area. As a key member of the practice leadership team, the Practice Controller will oversee the Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Audit, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Treasury, and Taxes functions. The Practice Controller will ensure that necessary financial controls are in place, monitor compliance, and maintain policies and procedures for financial and accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage all practice accounting functions and financial systems.
  • Lead and coordinate all practice audit activities, including annual financial audits and regulatory agency audits.
  • Direct internal and external financial statements and financial reporting.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory rules.
  • Evaluate accounting and internal control systems for effectiveness and improvements.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
  • Assist with practice Treasury operations, including cash management, cash controls, banking activities, and corporate practice of medicine.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Payroll operations, including physician compensation.
  • Assist Practice CEO and Corporate Finance with the annual operating and capital budget.
  • Oversee the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).
  • Oversee the purchase order process and system.
  • Provide support to projects and initiatives from the corporate office.
  • Implement effective accounting policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Evaluate the staffing of the departments for process efficiencies and team effectiveness.
  • Provide vital financial information/models to the leadership team for decision-making.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on information system enhancements and new information technology.
  • Build, oversee, and support practice finance team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust with high productivity.
  • Build strong relationships among all key stakeholders, including Practice CEO, practice operations team, physician leadership, physician partners, CVAUSA leadership team, and corporate finance team.
Requirements and Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 7 years of Accounting Healthcare/Physician Practice experience.
  • Experience in administrative policies and practice.
  • Experience in working directly with physicians.
  • Experience in matrix organization.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision and carry out those tasks necessary to fulfill the job responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information in a highly confidential manner.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
