Data Platform Automation Manager, Space Technology

At Blue Origin, we are pioneering a future where millions of people live and work in space for the benefit of Earth. As part of our Enterprise Technology team, you will be responsible for developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space.
This role is focused on managing the Data Platform Automation team, enabling data-driven decision making across the company from engineering to flight operations. You will lead the development of the roadmap and implement functionality to integrate and function the operational and analytical data platform across the company.
The ideal candidate has technical leadership experience, partnering with sister teams and customers. Experience with building event-driven systems, public clouds, serverless compute, Kubernetes, CI/CD, data fabric, metadata management, and Spark computing is required.
We seek a passionate leader who values data quality and trust, with the ability to drive incident management, customer communications, RCAs, and mitigation strategies for platform outages. Conducting make vs buy decisions for new technology and vendor assessments will also be key responsibilities.
Key qualifications include 5+ years of production-grade code writing experience, 3+ years of people management experience, and experience building a modern data lakehouse stack. Excellent written and spoken communication skills, as well as deep technical knowledge of one or more technologies like Spark, Databricks, Palantir, ML Flow, are necessary.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Compensation range: $187,266.00-$262,172.40 per year.
