Case Manager, Student Care Advocate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Case Manager to join our Student Care and Advocacy team at Penn State University. As a Case Manager, you will serve as a point of contact for students experiencing distress, providing consultation, guidance, and support to help them navigate academic and personal challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support and advocacy to students, helping them identify resources and develop action plans to address complex issues.
  • Collaborate with campus community members, including faculty, staff, and parents, to provide consultation and guidance on supporting students in distress.
  • Assist students in accessing University and community resources, including emergency medical care, housing, and funding in times of crisis.
  • Document and maintain records of student cases in the online case management system.
  • Work closely with the Director and other case managers to determine appropriate action for referred cases.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • One year of relevant experience in crisis management, with ability to interact effectively with diverse populations and manage complex situations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to work cooperatively with others in a multidisciplinary team environment.
