Job Summary:

We are seeking a Child Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Gads Hill Center. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group therapy services to students, utilizing evidence-based best practices and maintaining a working knowledge of childhood education and development standards.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, taking into account cultural, ethnic, and environmental differences, to support healthy family functioning and increase staff capacity to implement trauma-informed practices.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational workshops for parents and students to promote healthy relationships and social-emotional growth.
  • Support the social-emotional health of students and families through home visits, phone calls, and follow-up services, identifying barriers to social and emotional functioning and connecting families with community resources.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation, providing comprehensive case management and referring families to essential resources, including food assistance, educational opportunities, and housing support.
  • Engage in crisis intervention, developing safety plans and providing leadership in clinical practice, education, and health services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, leaders, and affiliates, facilitating advocacy initiatives and promoting mental health awareness within the community.
  • Implement research-based best practices, performing record-keeping functions, and other administrative duties as required by the agency.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Illinois
  • Experience working with children and adolescents from 5 to 19 years old
  • Advanced knowledge of mental health treatment and experience with multicultural programming
  • Dynamic self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check
  • Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish and English

Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
