Meat Processing Plant Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager to lead our Meat Processing Plant in Dixon, CA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and driving efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Leadership
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the plant team, driving business growth and improvement.
- Develop and implement corporate and strategic initiatives, policies, and goals to achieve operational excellence.
- Coordinate the operations of multiple departments, including administrative, operations, manufacturing, maintenance, procurement, shipping, and receiving.
- Collaborate with Technical Services, Quality Control/Assurance, and Human Resources departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand and maintain inventory levels, utilizing sales forecasting, BI, and ERP systems.
- Oversee and review daily yield tests to determine accuracy and consistency, ensuring operational cost and market pricing for products.
- Coordinate and collaborate with plant and corporate QC/QA teams to ensure all products meet or exceed quality and safety standards.
- Implement and maintain plant-wide quality control procedures, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, and certifications.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as USDA and other governmental and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and workplace safety.
- Develop and implement safety standards, protocols, and policies to minimize accidents and injuries.
- Develop and maintain relationships with federal, state, and local government agencies, such as OSHA, DOL, EPA, etc.
- Oversee the facility maintenance team and ensure appropriate maintenance, repair, and installation of all plant facilities and equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance tasks and/or equipment purchases or maintenance requests.
- Recruit, train, and manage a skilled and motivated team of administrative, operational, management, and production staff.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to employees.
- Ensure team development and continuing education with management team.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- 5+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Ability to interface well with all employees of the Company and represent the Company in a highly professional manner.
- High level of analytical and problem-solving skills to drive business growth and improvement.
- Ability to effectively read, speak, and communicate in English, and ability to effectively present information verbally one-on-one and in group situations to customers, vendors, and other employees.
- Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
