Overview

First Citizens Bank is committed to providing a comprehensive summer internship program that fosters growth and development. Our interns will apply theoretical knowledge in a dynamic corporate environment while making a meaningful impact across the organization.

The Facilities Maintenance Intern will be assigned to various areas of responsibility within the department, including mechanical maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and Building Controls under the supervision of a qualified technician.

During this role, you can expect a combination of research, online course review, and hands-on work in the Raleigh market. You will also have the opportunity to present to the group on a topic of your choice at the end of the program and attend a one-on-one meeting with your direct supervisor for feedback and program improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a dynamic team with interesting projects, focusing on research, analytics, projects, strategy, process review, and technology enhancements.
  • Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking events, and community service activities.
  • Have a dedicated manager and program manager to assist you in navigating the bank and the internship program.
  • Be assigned a project designed to improve a specific process or solve a problem, which you will present at the close of the internship.
  • Prepare a wrap-up presentation to share with division leaders and key stakeholders outlining your accomplishments and experience during the internship.

Internship Details

This internship offers an estimated $16-$18 per hour, equivalent to a total salary of $24,800-$32,640 over 13 weeks. This compensation package is reflective of industry standards and the value we place on our interns' contributions.

Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must:

  • Have a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of experience.
  • Be currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution during the time of the summer program.
  • Be able to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Majors in Mechanical Engineering or Building (Facility) Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of hand tools.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow.
