About the Role:

Fresenius Medical Care North America seeks a skilled Dialysis Care Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome assigned patients, inquire about their wellbeing, and evaluate vascular access for patency
  • Perform vascular access cannulation, administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law, and obtain necessary pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight
  • Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders, including blood flow (QB) and dialysate flow (QD), and monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy
  • Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or as directed
  • Obtain vital signs prior to reinfusion, perform all relevant functions necessary for the discontinuation of treatment, and document patient information
  • Discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures, evaluate patient prior to termination of venous access, and apply appropriate dressings
  • Prepare initial patient chart for admission, compile paperwork for chart placement, and prepare/print lab requisitions for prescribed or stat Lab specimens

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D required
  • Must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
  • All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required

Salary Information: The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
