Our mission is to promote the mental health of all New Yorkers, with a focus on providing hope and supporting recovery for adults with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbances.

We are seeking a highly skilled Diversity Outreach Specialist to join our team at The Institute for Basic Research. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in promoting diversity and inclusion in our research endeavors.

Job Summary:

The Diversity Outreach Specialist will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with local community groups serving minority communities. You will work closely with our team to develop culturally appropriate outreach materials and ensure an understanding of Alzheimer disease within these communities.

In this role, you will also convene an advisory group to ensure diversity and maintain social media presence for our research study. Your excellent communication and public speaking skills will enable you to effectively convey the importance of our research and engage minority populations.

About the Position:

This is a part-time position working 20 hours a week at 50% full-time effort. The chosen candidate must possess good social skills and public speaking experience. A bachelor's degree in social sciences, communications/marketing and/or public relation areas and two years of professional research experience in an appropriate field are required. A master's degree may substitute for one year of the experience.

About This Role:

We offer a competitive salary of $$36,000 - $43,000 per year, depending on qualifications. In addition to your base salary, you will also receive an excellent benefits package.
