Job Title: Energy Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Researcher to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Electronic Materials & Microsystems Group, you will play a critical role in developing innovative solutions to complex energy challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and perform experiments to develop new energy materials and devices
  • Characterize and analyze data to optimize energy conversion and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into practical applications
  • Present research results and technical work to internal and external stakeholders
  • Pursue research interests aligning with the broader organization
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • Strong background and interest in energy materials and devices, particularly photovoltaic (PV) materials and devices
  • 10+ years of experience in a laboratory environment developing PV materials and devices and characterizing them
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance
