Role Overview
The Multi-Domain Solutions Division at Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineering Director to support an exciting program with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center.
This position is ideal for candidates with extensive network engineering experience, a deep understanding of DoD IT requirements, and strong leadership abilities. The Network Engineering Director will manage the deployment of managed services, workstations, and networks, ensuring all activities comply with DoD policies and security standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of network engineers in designing, implementing, and supporting network infrastructure specifically for DoD environments.
- Program Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Program Management Office (PMO) team to ensure network engineering efforts align with program objectives and deliverables.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive network architecture documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Conduct proactive network performance monitoring and optimization to ensure high service availability and reliability.
- Security Implementation: Implement best practices for security, ensuring compliance with DoD security requirements, including Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Incident Management: Oversee incident management and problem resolution to minimize service interruptions.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Assessment and Recommendations: Perform regular assessments of network performance and capacity, offering recommendations for enhancements.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare and deliver technical reports and updates to management and key stakeholders, including the PMO.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with Leidos policies and procedures.
- Leadership and Culture: Demonstrate moral and ethical leadership by setting a positive example and fostering a culture aligned with Leidos values.
Basic Qualifications:
- A U.S. Citizen with a Top Secret clearance.
- A Bachelor's Degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or Master's Degree with 10+ years of experience.
- Extensive knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
- Experience with network security principles and technologies, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Familiarity with DoD regulations and standards, including RMF and NIST frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in security management (e.g., CISSP, CISM, COMPTIA Security+).
- Advanced networking certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+).
- Experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
- Previous experience working with federal government or military clients.
Compensation
The estimated salary range for this position is $108,550 - $196,225 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
