Diagnostic Laboratory Technician

As a Diagnostic Laboratory Technician - Blood and Bodily Fluids Specialist at LCMC Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper preparation, collection, preservation, transportation, and testing of blood and bodily fluids.
The estimated salary for this position is $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This rate is competitive with other medical laboratory technician positions in the region.
About the JobYou will be responsible for operating both primary and secondary instrumentation proficiently, ensuring specimens are acceptable for testing, and reporting test results. You will also recognize and refer abnormal, unusual, and critical results to your supervisor. Additionally, you will maintain knowledge of standard phlebotomy and skin puncture techniques, and appropriate blood processing and handling procedures.
As a Diagnostic Laboratory Technician - Blood and Bodily Fluids Specialist, you will follow universal precautions, safety, and infection control procedures, policies, and report variances. You will also prepare blood components while maintaining aseptic technique and proper storage.
Requirements- Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS-Technician) through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
