GIS Administrator

Join Hall County's GIS Team as a GIS Administrator, providing support to multiple end users with Enterprise Geodatabases, SQL Servers, and enterprise systems. Administer databases, including backup, recovery, monitoring, optimization, installation, configuration, and reporting.

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee the development, implementation, and administration of the Development Services Software, Accela Civic Applications.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee the integration of the Development Services Software data and other city and county databases with the enterprise GIS System.
• Maintain application and system software and/or hardware, including testing, documenting, implementing, troubleshooting, installation, and user training/support, ensuring highest operating efficiency.
• Analyze specifications and test systems and software, modifying existing system software and hardware requirements, providing technical or conceptual support as needed.
• Analyze data quality and develop techniques and procedures for improving the quality of data to be integrated with the enterprise GIS, working with data entry staff to improve input accuracy and with other systems administration staff on quality improvement procedures.
• Develop reporting through Crystal reports, Ad-Hoc Reports, Access, and ArcGIS.
• Develop GIS applications for various departments to provide customized GIS functionality needed by specific departments and users.
• Assist and consult on requirements for systems purchases, interacting with County M.I.S. department to ensure compatibility of systems and efficiency in resource allocation and usage.
• Prepare and maintain documentation, procedures, and technical library with respect to the Enterprise GIS system.
• Work with end-users to develop specifications to meet specific applications' needs.
• Provide technical support and assistance to system users, public officials, and others as appropriate, training and instructing staff members on use of GIS software and other software applications, providing information and technical assistance regarding mapping issues or related issues, providing information, researching problems, and initiating problem resolution.
• Assist in set-up, installation, and maintenance of computer hardware and software.
• Maintain accurate information on number of PC users, hardware, and software specifications.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities stated above.
• Prior experience with GIS required, with background in ESRI software preferred, and supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid class C Driver's License and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Current GISP Certification preferred.
