We are a leading manufacturer of high-quality chains and related products, seeking an experienced Precision Machinist and Tooling Specialist to join our team.
Salary
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description
This role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for laying out work, building and repairing tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and parts under the direction of Supervisor. You will also build and overhaul machinery, set up and operate tool room machines to specified tolerances, and perform welding, brazing, and heat treating operations when required.
You will work closely with operators and setup leads on installation of new setups and revised setups, and be responsible for monitoring machining operations and reacting to prevent tool crashes due to programming errors and other unplanned situations that could lead to costly downtime and machine repairs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A two-year technical degree or equivalent experience and two years' practical experience with demonstration of skills in a work-based assessment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in machinist's hand and power tools and measuring instruments.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and utilize assistance for lifting weights over 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, use of hands, and handling of objects.
- Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

This is a full-time position, requiring limited supervision. You will be expected to complete and pass a formal six-month training program and abide by safety policies, operator preventative maintenance, and housekeeping practices.
