About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Litigation In-House Counsel to join our team in the Corporate Law Department, located in Bloomington, Illinois. This role will provide expert legal advice and support to State Farm entities on litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise litigation brought against State Farm entities and handle discovery issues
  • Work with outside counsel on formulating litigation strategies for bad faith, class action, and other types of litigation
  • Assist in trial preparation and prepare company witnesses for depositions and other testimony
  • Analyze legal problems and interpret laws and regulations
  • Develop budgets for litigation matters and related projects
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
  • Active law license to practice law in at least one state and a member in good standing of the bar
  • Must be able to obtain a limited license in IL if not already appropriately licensed in IL
  • Attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience
