Job Description:

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team at Parsons. As a Cloud Engineer, you will work with software development teams and mission owners to provide technical guidance and help them design next-generation systems that leverage cloud-native technologies and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical expertise on cloud computer technologies and services
  • Recommending approaches to migrate tools and systems to cloud-based solutions
  • Helping teams make informed decisions on SaaS, PaaS, self-hosted, and hybrid approaches
  • Requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
  • Working with products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality, etc.
  • Writing scripts for software automation
  • Providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complete hardware/software systems to include monitoring technical health of a system, improving organizational processes, implementation of postmortem (failure) analysis and incident management

Requirements:

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly required for consideration
  • One of the following certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Data Analytics (some flexibility to obtain within four (4) months of starting position)

Desired Skills:

  • Kubernetes experience including a Kubernetes Admin responsible for upgrading, version control and configuration management. Creating best practices that enable consistency
  • AWS experience with AMI generation and automating processes to make it easier for analysts to use
  • Create integration with enterprise authentication services
  • Experience with Elastic Map Reduce and other Cloud vendors
  • Kubernetes Developer or Admin
