Licensed Child Welfare Case Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and manage all cases assigned by the unit supervisor, ensuring timely meetings with children and parents to conduct necessary assessments.
- Collaborate with families and relevant stakeholders to develop individualized case plans that address the unique strengths and needs of each family.
- Conduct regular visits to children in their primary residences, adhering to required visit frequencies and ensuring at least one unannounced visit each quarter.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all case activities in the designated database, ensuring compliance with agency standards.
- Facilitate service requests and provide clients with appropriate referrals, while developing a thorough understanding of community resources.
- Prepare and submit court documentation within specified time frames, actively participating in all necessary court proceedings.
- Conduct child safety assessments and develop safety plans as required, ensuring the well-being of children at risk.
- Perform diligent searches for family members when necessary, documenting all efforts made.
- Organize and conduct home studies for prospective placements, providing essential background information to caregivers.
- Transport children as needed and ensure all Independent Living functions are completed as required.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings, trainings, and workshops.
- Serve as an on-call Case Manager as scheduled, collaborating effectively with various stakeholders.
- Manage time efficiently to meet all documentation and court appearance requirements.
- Adhere to all relevant statutes, policies, and procedures in case management.
- Organize and prioritize work assignments to meet established deadlines.

- Complete all mandated training courses and maintain necessary certifications.

Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Driver's License and ability to transport clients.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience, with certification required within one year.
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field, preferably in Social Work.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to understand and manage case ownership responsibilities effectively.
- Sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the service population.
