About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will work one-on-one with children and adolescents who require crisis intervention, intensive behavior management support, emotional support, time-structured activities, and psychological rehabilitative activities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to maintain confidentiality, and have experience working with children with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out specific interventions as identified in the behavioral treatment plan developed by the Behavioral Consultant (BC), the Interagency Team, and the Elwyn treatment team
  • Teach positive social skills to avoid or decrease socially inappropriate, threatening, and/or dangerous behavior by implementing behavioral interventions
  • Model and explain appropriate interventions to the child, family, and/or teacher while working collaboratively with them
  • Support caregivers in providing immediate rewards or consequences for behavior identified in the individual behavioral treatment plan
  • Implement behavioral supports as identified in the treatment plan to support the child's participation in activities such as summer camp, community events, and school-based events
  • Record behavioral data and document progress toward child's treatment plan goals into Elwyn electronic health records system
  • Write daily progress notes consistent with treatment goal adjectives to be placed in child's case files
  • Complete and submit weekly encounter forms to ensure appropriate billing
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • One of the following certifications at the time of hire or obtain it within six months: Board-certified assistant behavior analyst certification (BCaBA), Board-certified autism technician (BCAT) certification, Behavior analysis certification from an accredited organization, High school diploma or equivalent with RBT designation, or minimum two years of experience providing ABA services with 40 hours of approved training
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the provision of behavioral health services
  • Ability to keep pace with active children
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no supervision
  • Ability to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols
  • Excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
