Behavioral Health Services Specialist

SOS International LLC is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Services Specialist to provide comprehensive mental health services for our government customer in Tacoma, WA.
About the RoleThis position requires a team player who can work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. As a Behavioral Health Services Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting mental health screenings, providing patient education, and facilitating basic psycho-educational groups.
You will augment on-site behavioral services by monitoring patient compliance, promoting safety, and patient engagement within an integrated and therapeutic care milieu. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Responsibilities- Conduct mental health screenings and assessments to identify patients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide patient education and support on mental health topics, including coping skills, anger management, and stress reduction techniques.
- Facilitate basic psycho-educational groups to promote patient understanding and engagement.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions and progress.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
- Perform sleep hygiene encounters and checks as directed.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- An Associate degree in a behavioral science/specialty field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a mental health clinic or residential healthcare setting.
- Ability to obtain/maintain required security clearance.
- Basic knowledge regarding therapeutic communication and psychiatric recovery and rehabilitation skills.
- Ability to conduct clinical mental health screenings.
- Ability to facilitate skill building exercises, patient safety and wellness processing groups.
This position requires flexibility and adaptability, as you may need to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, where attention to detail and effective time management are essential.
The estimated salary for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. SOS International LLC offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
