Job Title: Hostess

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hostess to join our team at Clique Bar & Lounge. As a Hostess, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet guests in a warm and welcoming manner, making them feel at ease and valued.
  • Anticipate and respond to guests' needs with a sense of urgency, ensuring their expectations are met.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, adhering to our company's standards and policies.
  • Bid farewell to guests, using their name when known, and encourage them to return.
  • Manage the flow of guests, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Oversee daily restaurant reservations, pre-assigning seating as needed.
  • Answer telephone calls and direct them accordingly.
  • Communicate with staff regarding VIPs, special orders, and other important information.
  • Effectively communicate with management and service staff to address any issues or needs requested by guests or employees.
  • Participate in weekly marketing requirements and adhere to table and guest list requirements.
  • Assist in developing our restaurant database through networking and completing data cards.
  • Encourage guests to make weekly table reservations and build a personal clientele.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, as assigned.
  • Clean and maintain the podium area, including menu covers and inserts.
  • Shut down the podium, forward phones to voice-loop, and stack menus at the end of the shift.
  • Follow all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department, and health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience as a Hostess in a similar, high-volume restaurant environment or 6 months of experience in a fine dining establishment.
  • 1 year of experience in marketing nightclubs, restaurants, or related experience in a Retail or marketing internship or related university marketing course.
  • Experience with social media platforms and active participation in social media.
  • Good communication skills; multilingual is a plus.
  • Must be able to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Ability to program and operate a multi-line telephone.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with POS systems and cash handling skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a high-stress and high-volume environment.
  • Ability to follow directions well, make quick decisions, and keep organized while under pressure.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, energetic, and a willing learner.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties with extreme care, concern, and detail.
  • Professionally groomed in a manner consistent with department grooming standards.
  • Physically able to walk without assistance and stand on various surfaces for an extended period of time.
