Job Title: Student Employee, Planetarium Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student Employee to assist in the operations of our planetarium. As a Student Employee, you will play a key role in coordinating and registering planetarium shows, setting up and breaking down events, and creating promotional materials to market our events.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the coordination and registration of planetarium shows
• Set up and break down events as needed
• Coordinate social media strategies to promote planetarium events
• Create visual displays, flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials
• Assist with general office duties as needed

Requirements:

• GPA of 2.0 or above
• Enrolled at Joliet Junior College in at least 6 credit hours
• Interest in science and/or astronomy
• Ability to work well with others and K-8 students
• Effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency
• Demonstrated multicultural competence

Working Conditions:

Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.

Primary Location: Main Campus, Joliet, IL

Scheduled Weekly Hours: This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks, may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
