Plant Finance Director

McCulloh Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Plant Finance Manager to join our team in Defiance, OH. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned financial leader to drive cost productivity initiatives and make a real impact in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading accurate monthly financial closing and reporting, providing in-depth analysis of operational results, and ensuring strong internal controls and SOX compliance requirements are met. Additionally, they will manage the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process, conduct financial evaluations for capital spending projects, and lead a team of salaried employees.

• Identify and implement performance-based metrics to optimize financial performance, partnering with the plant manager to drive cost and productivity efforts.
• Lead accurate monthly financial closing and reporting for the plant manager, site leadership, and division teams.
• Provide in-depth analysis of monthly operational results, evaluating sources of variability, inflation, and productivity.
• Ensure strong internal controls and SOX compliance requirements are met.
• Manage the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process.
• Conduct financial evaluations for capital spending projects.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of salaried employees, ensuring direction and resource deployment.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with a minimum of 3 years of plant financial experience, and 6 overall years of increasing financial responsibility.
• Proven experience in driving cost reduction and productivity initiatives, fostering organizational participation in change efforts.
• Proficiency in performance-based metrics and financial scorecards.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and project management skills.
• Strong manufacturing and plant-level accounting experience managing payroll, accounts payable, inventory, general ledger, etc.
• Experience with Six Sigma, Kanban or Lean manufacturing highly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Infor, Dynamics, etc).
