About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Instructor to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As an Academic Instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach courses in Spanish and Portuguese, contribute to the development of curriculum, and work collaboratively with colleagues to promote academic excellence.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory language courses and literature and culture courses as determined by departmental needs.
• Develop and maintain course materials, including textbooks, syllabi, and assignments.
• Hold office hours for students, provide support and guidance, and assess student progress.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have a Master's degree in Spanish or Portuguese or a related field in Education, the Humanities, or Social Sciences. A Ph.D. degree is preferred for appointment as Lecturer. You should also possess native or near-native fluency in the languages of instruction, two years of post-secondary teaching experience, and a commitment to quality teaching and program development.

Benefits

The University of Minnesota offers a competitive salary range of $$75,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer excellent benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
