Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ambulatory Surgery Center Administrator to join our team at PIH Health. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the daily operation of the facility, ensuring efficient provision of surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and all departments of the facility, promoting positive relationships and effective communication.
  • Report pertinent activities concerning the facility to the Governing Board at regular intervals, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Appoint a person responsible for the facility in the absence of the Administrator, ensuring continuity and stability.
  • Plan for the services provided by the facility and the operation of the facility, aligning with the vision and mission of PIH Health.
  • Manage the clinical departments of nursing, central supply, medical records, and housekeeping, as well as supervise contracted services of laboratory, radiology, pharmaceuticals, laundry, and biomedical engineering.
  • Monitor the adequate function of surgical equipment and patient care equipment through contracted services and follow-up on repairs.
  • Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan, leading the facility's sales team in accordance with PIH Health's Sales Plan and the business plan for the facility.
  • Identify and develop new services defined as appropriate for ambulatory surgery centers, fostering innovation and growth.
  • Develop, evaluate, and promote implementation of a continuous quality improvement program, ensuring high-quality patient care and services.
  • Administer the infection control program and medical staff review of the quality improvement program, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Serve as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee, contributing to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Process the credentialing of practitioners of the facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director in the review and revision of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, promoting effective governance and decision-making.
  • Promote positive relationships between employees and practitioners, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Develop a system whereby physician's needs and their patients' needs are defined, determining the proper mix of services and efficiencies.
  • Attend corporate administrative meetings representing the facility, ensuring alignment with PIH Health's vision and mission.
  • Maintain membership in professional associations relevant to ambulatory surgery facilities and healthcare administration, staying current with industry developments and best practices.
  • Stay current in changes in the healthcare environment, such as reimbursement, legislative issues, and business law, and act accordingly in the best interest of the corporation.
  • Identify areas that require additional reinforcement through education, consultation, or practicum, ensuring ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services and meetings, maintaining a high level of knowledge and expertise.
  • Follow the facility's professional conduct and dress code policy, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staffs, patients, and employees, promoting excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the health professions, business administration, public administration, or other suitable field.
  • Nursing or Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a top administrative or management position in the health field.
  • Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Mobility to move about the facility to supervise employees and activities. Office environment typical, but frequent exposures to patient care areas.
