AI Pretraining Platform Technical Program Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Member of Technical Staff, Pre-training Platform Technical Program Manager to join our team at Microsoft Corporation.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge project that aims to develop the world's most advanced training platform for AI frontier models. As a technical program manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire process, from datacenter construction to GPU delivery timelines, ensuring that our team meets its goals and delivers high-quality results.
You will work closely with various stakeholders, including engineers, researchers, and product teams, to identify gaps and drive timelines towards resolutions and mitigations. Your ability to manage cross-functional projects, track timelines, and prioritize tasks will be essential in achieving success in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Datacenter Construction and Bring-up: Deeply understand and manage the timelines of datacenter construction and bring-up processes.
- Node, Rack, and Cluster Validation: Track and manage node, rack, and cluster validation processes to ensure seamless operations.
- GPU Delivery Timelines: Hold execution-focused meetings with stakeholders to accelerate GPU delivery timelines and meet business goals.
- Capacity Deployment and Benchmarking: Track and manage the capacity deployment, validation, and benchmarking of AI supercomputers to optimize performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product teams and engineers to identify gaps and drive timelines towards resolutions and mitigations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.
- Or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

- A bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.
- Or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
- 2+ years of tracking and managing data center bring-up.
- 1+ years of tracking and managing capacity deployment, validation, and benchmarking of GPU clusters for AI training.
