Probation Officer II Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Probation Officer II to join our team at GeorgiaGov. This role requires a strong understanding of juvenile probation and the ability to provide effective supervision to offenders.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and counsel juvenile probationers to assist in their social and personal adjustment.
• Manage an assigned caseload, including performing arrests and testifying in court as necessary.
• Monitor and conduct surveillance of probationers/parolees, gathering information to assess their level of readjustment to society.
• Develop and implement plans for helping offenders with life adjustments, building relationships with community organizations and networks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, plus P.O.S.T. certification, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of experience in a related field, preferably in juvenile probation or a similar role.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including offenders, families, and community partners.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
