Job Summary:

As a Surgical Assistant, II at UW Health in northern Illinois, you will play a vital role in supporting the surgical team to ensure efficient processes and patient flow. Under the direction of the RN Circulator and physician, you will perform scrub duties and participate in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of support activities for the surgical team, promoting efficient processes and patient flow.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives.
• Collaborate with the RN Circulator and physician to ensure seamless surgical procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment, adhering to aseptic technique and medical terminology standards.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• High School diploma required, with on-the-job education provided.
• Previous hospital experience preferred, with a focus on surgical support roles.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification encouraged, with Bi-Annual CPR certification required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, with a focus on patient care interactions.
