Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $63,000 - $85,000, depending on location and experience.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Part Time Home Infusion Nurse. In this role, you will provide clinical care and education to home-based patients receiving parenteral medications dispensed from Optum Infusion Pharmacy.

Your primary responsibilities will include establishing positive clinical rapport with patients and their families, assessing patient appropriateness for home infusion therapy, obtaining and documenting patient medical history, and completing all required clinical documentation thoroughly and timely.

You will also participate in case conferences to comprehensively plan patient care, provide skilled care to patients of varying ages and medical conditions, and establish, secure, and maintain vascular access devices as prescribed.

In addition, you will administer medications as prescribed, perform therapy-specific clinical assessments, communicate observations of patient response to therapy, and establish collaborative relationships with home health agencies.

This is a unique opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary team of professionals, including pharmacists and technicians, physicians and other licensed prescribers, registered dietitians, and home health agencies.

Requirements
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) of practice and others as requested
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification, or willing to obtain prior to starting employment
  • 1+ years of experience working as an RN in a clinical care setting that contributes to proficiency in infusion therapy
  • Proficient with electronic medical records documentation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted RN license in the State of NY
  • Experience administering infusion therapy in a home or alternate-site setting
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) programs
