We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Nurse Specialist to join our team at AdventHealth Porter. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where you can grow professionally and personally.

About the Role

The Surgical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the General Surgery department. You will work closely with the healthcare team to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients. Your expertise will include assessing patients' conditions, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and promoting optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, and review of medical records.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in various therapeutic/diagnostic interventions, including IV administration, wound care, medication management, and specimen collection.
  • Promote and advocate for patients' rights and safety.
Requirements
  • A graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience in the Operating Room.
  • Current Colorado RN License or Compact RN License from a NCLA Compact State.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
