Logistics Coordinator for Petroleum Transportation

A key role at Wayne Transports,Inc, the Logistics Coordinator for Petroleum Transportation is responsible for coordinating the delivery and transportation of petroleum products to various locations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities to manage logistics operations and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
Key responsibilities include scheduling and dispatching petroleum transport vehicles based on customer orders, delivery schedules, and route efficiency. The successful candidate will coordinate with drivers to ensure timely deliveries and pickups, plan and optimize delivery routes to minimize costs and improve efficiency, monitor and track vehicle locations and status using GPS and other tracking systems, and adjust schedules and routes in response to traffic conditions, weather, and other variables.
The Logistics Coordinator for Petroleum Transportation will also be responsible for maintaining clear and consistent communication with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders, providing drivers with detailed instructions regarding delivery locations, safety procedures, and special instructions. Additionally, this role involves maintaining accurate records of deliveries, fuel consumption, and other relevant data, addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by meeting delivery schedules and addressing any issues promptly.
This position requires the ability to quickly identify and resolve any issues related to transportation, such as vehicle breakdowns, delays, or route changes, implement contingency plans to address unexpected disruptions in the delivery schedule, work closely with the sales and operations teams to align delivery schedules with business needs, and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained regularly.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or a related field, preferably within the petroleum industry, proficiency in using dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and other logistics tools, strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing schedules and documentation, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues.
