Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Romo Medical Equipment LLC. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating patients undergoing various medical procedures and making recommendations for an appropriate respiratory treatment plan. You will also provide respiratory care to patients with complex medical needs, insert or remove endotracheal tubes, and work closely with patients and their families to ensure they understand their treatment plan.
Responsibilities
Maintain the flow of daily tasks within the agency
Participate in the agency's quality improvement process
Set up and operate devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, and environmental control systems following specified parameters of treatment
Responsible for case management and quality of care provided by professional staff
Actively participate in conferences planned for staff professional growth and development
Determine requirements for treatment, such as type, method, and duration of therapy, precautions to be taken compatible with physicians' orders
Market the agency's services throughout the community, including health fairs, visiting physicians' offices, workshops, and seminars
Ensure the maintenance of agency records to satisfy the requirements of state laws, always maintaining the highest standards
Read prescription, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess patient condition
Practice and develop customer service skills in relation to customers
Practice and demonstrate an open-door policy for all employees
Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license and be insurable
Must possess excellent communication skills
Must have excellent computer skills
Must communicate with the President any day-to-day decisions made for the organization
Ability to perform other work-related duties as assigned and required
Enforce safety rules and ensure careful adherence to physicians' orders
Maintain charts that contain patients' pertinent identification and therapy information
Inspect, clean, test, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, ordering repairs when necessary
Educate patients and their families about their conditions and teach appropriate disease management techniques, such as breathing exercises and the use of medications and respiratory equipment
Explain treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation and allay fears
Perform pulmonary function and adjust equipment to obtain optimum results in therapy
Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees and other healthcare personnel
Make emergency visits to resolve equipment problems
Requirements
Active credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state board equivalent required
State licensure required
Deep understanding of respiratory care, patient care, and best patient practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
