Working Conditions:

  • Flexible with scheduling changes due to store needs and sales events.
  • May require overtime on occasion due to store needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement: Provides customers with fast, friendly, and courteous service, responding to customer questions and taking initiative to find answers.
  • Assessing Sales Floor: Walks the sales floor, straightening and organizing merchandise as needed, removing trash, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Processing: Operates the cash register, receives payment from customers, accurately counts and provides change, and rings up and bags one item at a time.
  • Work Area: Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work area, adhering to company safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Safety: Provides a hazard-free environment by following company safety guidelines and procedures, cleaning up breakages or spills promptly, and reporting any hazards or injuries to a supervisor.
  • Communication: Communicates with the public in a courteous manner, communicates to management or supervisor of issues or potential hazards within the store, and communicates with fellow employees in a respectful manner to inspire a spirit of teamwork.
  • Meeting Targets: Consistently balances the cash drawer at the end of every shift without any overage or shortage.

Physical Skill Requirements:

  • Lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs.
  • Pushing and pulling 4-6 lbs. or force.
  • Standing 90% of the time.
  • Repetitive use of hands 100% of the time.
  • Reaching overhead 20% of the time.
  • Pushing and pulling 30% of the time.
  • Bending and crouching 40% of the time.
  • Grasping items with hands 90% of the time.
