Job Summary:

The Clinical Research Operations Manager will lead the clinical research operations team in the Cancer Clinical and Translational Research Office. This role will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and working in partnership with nursing, the healthcare team, and leadership to assure quality patient care provided in accordance with departmental, Henry Ford Medical Group, and health system policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical research operations, leadership experience, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. This role will focus approximately 80% on daily operations and 20% on strategy.

Responsibilities:

* Provides clinical leadership and works in partnership with nursing, the healthcare team, and leadership to assure quality patient care provided in accordance with departmental, Henry Ford Medical Group, and health system policies and procedures.
* Facilitates implementation of innovative patient care delivery models and a collaborative, multidisciplinary, team-approach in the continuous improvement of patient care services.
* Represents the Department, Specialty, and/or Business Unit on various internal and external committees and within the community.
* Provides leadership, education, and mentoring for staff.
* Responsible for insuring that proper personnel procedures are followed in terms of interviewing, evaluating, orienting, and training new staff.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field required.
* Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or equivalent preferred.
* Two (2) years of experience leading a project or team.
* Research experience and leadership experience preferred.
* Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience.
* Skilled in organizational attributes.
* Ability to communicate in writing and orally to support, direct, and work with employees, leadership, physicians, and various external audiences.
* Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets knowledge.

Certifications/Licenses:

* Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
* Current BLS/ACLS required.

Working Conditions:

* Works in a patient care setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases.
* May require heavy lifting of patients and/or equipment.
