Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance and Procurement Specialist to join our team at the Anchorage School District. This is a full-time position that requires strong administrative and financial management skills.

About the Role

The Finance and Procurement Specialist will be responsible for ordering and receiving school equipment and supplies, tracking and reporting school accounts, and reconciling receipts and payments. They will also assist in managing budgets, preparing financial statements, and processing deposit reconciliation reports.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, management, and accountability of school budgets.
  • Compile and record financial transactions and issue financial statements according to district policies and procedures.
  • Process and submit deposit reconciliation reports on a weekly basis to the accounting department.
  • Order, receive, inventory, and ensure delivery of materials purchased by the school.
  • Manage and report the fixed assets inventory to the finance department on an annual basis.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three years of clerical experience is preferred, with equivalent education considered in lieu of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Courses in bookkeeping or accounting or like knowledge demonstrated in previous work experience.
  • Proficiency in operating computers and office machines, as well as proficiency in filing systems.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $21.43 to $22.39 per hour, depending on experience. The Anchorage School District offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
