Mental Health Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at COMHAR, Inc. in Walnutport, PA. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing supportive counseling and psychoeducational groups to individuals with psychiatric and health-related needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual supportive counseling and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene and daily living activities, maintaining a therapeutic community and residence.
  • Conduct activities with residents, including educational, social, and leisure programs, incorporating resident input and suggestions.
  • Document progress notes and incidents in clinical charts and residential logs, reporting to Shift Supervisors as necessary.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions, including Quality Improvement Program and multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings.
Requirements:
  • AA in human services or related field, plus 2 years of mental health experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 4 years of mental health experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Previous experience working with individuals involved with the criminal justice system and those with substance use disorders.
