About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Event Support Professional to join our team at Shepard Exposition Services. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to customers throughout the event lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Interaction: Provide consultative advice to customers in person, via email, chat, and phone regarding their logistical exhibit requirements.
  • Data Management: Gather and understand customer needs, ensuring clarity and accuracy during the engagement.
  • Data Input and Reporting: Proficiently input customer information, orders, payments, show closings, and other relevant data into proprietary software systems.
  • Accuracy and Speed: Understand the importance of balancing speed and accuracy when processing inquiries, orders, and payments.
  • Sales Interactions: Manage soft sales interactions by assisting customers to understand costs and manage their budgets while providing effective solutions to inquiries and logistical needs.
  • Outreach: Help customers proactively prepare, avoid pitfalls, and maximize their investment for the event.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers in writing and in person.
  • Problem Solving: Apply experience and training to resolve service issues promptly, respectfully, and effectively.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Stand ready to see through the customer's eyes and advocate for them when necessary.
  • Feedback: Seek feedback actively to improve services and the customer experience.
  • Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers always.
  • Product Knowledge: Commit to an intimate knowledge of our products and services to assist customers.
  • Continuous Learning: Recognize that training extends beyond onboarding, and be willing to take initiative for personal growth and development.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma and 1-3 years of related customer experience - ideally in trade shows or events. College degree preferred.
  • Attitude and Skills: Positive and professional attitude, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and be service-minded with a team focus.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfort learning new software as needed.
  • Time Management: Well-developed time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete projects and assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Travel Requirements: Perform the department's internal and on-site event support functions which may involve traveling to event sites nationwide as scheduled.
  • Overtime and Valid Driver's License: Willingness to travel and work overtime as required, and have a valid driver's license.

Benefits and Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000-$65,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.
