We are seeking an experienced Physiatrist to join our team at the North Florida/South Georgia VA Healthcare System. As a Physiatrist, you will provide leadership and consultations for the outpatient Amputee Clinic, TBI clinic, and Musculoskeletal Clinic, and provide direct and comprehensive patient care to Veterans involved in the clinic.
Responsibilities- Plans, develops, and implements comprehensive treatment and care management programs for individual patients or groups of patients to relieve pain, restore or enhance performance, and maximize ability to function as independently as possible.
- Performs assessments, evaluations, and treatments involved in the prevention and management of physical disability, movement dysfunction, and pain resulting from injury, disease, disability, or other health-related conditions.
- Interprets tests and measurements to assess normal parameters of physiological functions as well as pathophysiological, pathomechanical, electrophysiological, ergonomic, and developmental deficits of bodily systems to determine diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention.
- Maintains communication with Veteran's primary care provider and makes appropriate referrals to allied health professionals within PMRS and specialty care providers outside PMRS to ensure implementation of their recommended plan of care.
- United States Citizenship
- Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
- Residency Training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
- Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
