An esteemed organization, Insight Global, is seeking a highly skilled Digital Crisis Support Specialist to join their dynamic team in Columbia, Maryland. This hybrid role combines on-site training with remote work opportunities, catering to individuals who value flexibility and a healthy work-life balance. To be eligible, applicants must reside within a commutable distance to Columbia, MD, enabling seamless participation in scheduled on-site meetings and training sessions.

This pivotal role involves providing empathetic online support to individuals in emotional distress through Crisis Chat and Text services. Key responsibilities include assessing each chat/text visitor's needs, determining the most suitable assistance method, and establishing a rapport with a diverse range of individuals. The selected candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Completing risk assessments, safety planning, de-escalation, and follow-up with chat visitors
  • Supporting suicidal chat/text visitors, including making assessments and taking appropriate actions
  • Establishing familiarity with resources and providing information and referrals as needed
  • Completing thorough documentation for all crisis chat/text in real-time
  • Scoring a minimum of 75% on quality evaluations and adhering to program policies and procedures

With a strong emphasis on quality assurance, the program provides daily monitoring of chats and texts to ensure exceptional performance. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in mental health services, with a focus on crisis intervention and suicide prevention
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced environment with immediate response requirements
