Aquatic Safety Specialist

Arch Amenities Group, a leading spa, fitness, and leisure firm, is seeking a part-time Aquatic Safety and Customer Service Professional at the Mayerson JCC of Cincinnati.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of all swimmers by implementing preventative measures and minimizing hazardous situations.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations in a polite and courteous manner.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations in the water and deck area.
- Conduct ongoing maintenance tasks, including adjusting feeders, checking pump and flow meter operations, vacuuming the pool, washing down the deck and pump room, cleaning stainless steel and filters, and recording pool readings.
- Stay knowledgeable about aquatic information and programming, and maintain a professional appearance with appropriate dress and uniform.
- Be punctual and timely when reporting to work, ensuring the aquatic area is safe, clean, and orderly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school education or comparable work experience.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Valid standard First Aid certification.
- Valid Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross.
- Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
- Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
- Able to show initiative and make decisions, with the ability to troubleshoot and anticipate problems.
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the job and facility.
- Maintain a character of professionalism and confidence, with tactful communication with participants.
- Demonstrate the ability to cooperate and work with others.
- Demonstrate consistent integrity, dependability, responsibility, and meet deadlines.
- Possess effective verbal and written communication and expression.
- Adaptable and flexible under stressful and/or unusual situations.
- Ability to sit for long periods.
- Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- This position requires the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Normal work hours: Shifts may vary to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
