Job Overview:

About the Role:
The FWS Student Assistant position offers a chance to gain valuable work experience while pursuing higher education. Students will work on campus or off-campus, depending on the employer's agreement with Dallas College. The role involves performing tasks relevant to your course of study, ensuring that you develop essential skills and knowledge in your field of study.

Key Responsibilities:
• Office assistants: Provide administrative support to faculty and staff members.
• Assistant technicians: Assist in laboratory settings, maintaining equipment and conducting experiments.
• Lab assistants: Support instructors in teaching laboratories, helping students understand complex concepts.
• Aides to instructors/deans: Offer assistance in various administrative tasks, such as data entry and filing.
• Athletic assistants: Support coaches and trainers in athletic programs, helping with event organization and logistics.

Requirements:
• Must be an undergraduate student enrolled at Dallas College and awarded federal work study funds in their financial aid package.
• Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards set by Dallas College.
• Enrolled and certified in at least six hours (half time) for Fall and Spring semesters. If attending Summer semesters, enrolled in at least three hours (quarter time).
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, without prior institutional balance or blocks.
• Have reliable transportation to off-campus worksites.
• Complete required Dallas College professional development training hours.
