Job Overview:

RaceTrac Petroleum is seeking a highly skilled Market and Trading Risk Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management and a passion for analyzing complex financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the risk of the company's portfolio across commodities and products, identifying potential areas of exposure and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide data to Financial Accounting to complete monthly close-out, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Monitor and forecast market trends, staying up-to-date on the latest market developments and their impact on the company's portfolio.
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support to senior leadership, assisting with business investment decisions and providing insights to inform strategic planning.
  • Develop and maintain accurate exposure, mark to market (MTM), and profitability reporting of all transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide backup for the responsibilities of other Risk Team members, ensuring seamless coverage and continuity.
  • Resolve discrepancies and inaccuracies in contracts, communicating with traders, customers, and brokers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Independently prepare advanced ad-hoc analysis, reports, and presentations on demand, using data visualization tools to communicate complex insights effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Risk Management, preferably in a commodities or financial services industry.
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with a strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience performing market analysis or financial/statistical data analysis, with a strong understanding of financial markets and instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, take initiative, and resolve issues with a high sense of urgency, working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
