Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at Nurturing Home Healthcare Agency. This role involves working closely with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to provide therapy and support to patients in their homes.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing treatment programs to assist patients with physical, cognitive, sensory, and social/emotional disabilities or delays. They will work collaboratively with occupational therapists to plan and administer occupational therapy in the home and community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement high-quality care and meet the needs of patients and their families by delivering occupational therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the occupational therapist supervisor.
  • Assist pediatric and young adult patients in areas such as physical, neurological, cognitive, sensory, feeding, ADLs, and social/emotional development, and improve their level of independence by implementing skilled interventions to maximize their potential.
  • Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills to carry over therapeutic activities into the patient's daily routine.
  • Ensure continuation of therapeutic plans following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
  • Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality by keeping information secure.
Requirements
  • Current state licensing for occupational therapy assistance required.
  • Previous experience working in an occupational therapy setting desired.
  • CPR License.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • The ability to make decisions in a high-stress environment.
Compensation and Benefits
