About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Emergency Nurse Specialist to join our team at Texas Children's Hospital. In this critical role, you will provide exceptional patient care and be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team.

Job Summary

This position involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care for patients in the emergency department. You will collect and analyze data from medical records to coordinate patient care, identify needs for patient teaching, discharge planning, growth and development, nutritional screening, functional status, and pain management.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform assessments of patients/families, documenting bio-physical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs in a systematic manner.
  2. Analyze data from medical records to coordinate patient care.
  3. Identify patient needs for patient teaching, discharge planning, growth and development, nutritional screening, functional status, and pain management.
  4. Re-prioritize and update plans of care based on new information and changes in patient conditions, communicating with other healthcare team members and documenting in medical records.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher, as well as current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas and BLS certification from the American Heart Association. A minimum of one year of professional nursing experience is required, preferably in pediatric, emergency, or critical care settings.

Texas Children's Hospital offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
