TLC is currently seeking a qualified Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at the Monroe Residential Treatment Facility and Matthews PHP.

As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of our clients by providing day-to-day support and facilitating therapeutic groups to promote coping skills, relapse prevention, DBT, education, and life skills.

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual with a Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field, and at least one year of experience working in behavioral health, preferably in an eating disorder setting or group home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the overall success of our program by serving as a positive role model and demonstrating appropriate dress, grooming, communication, and positive behavior in a professional and caring manner.
  • Facilitate the treatment plan set forth by the Therapist by providing day-to-day support and promoting client engagement.
  • Engage clients in therapeutic groups to promote coping skills, relapse prevention, DBT, education, and life skills.
  • Share vital information of the client's progress with the treatment team.
  • Maintain the confidential nature of all client and program-related activities.
  • Eat meals together with clients to model positive dietary behaviors.
  • Maintain an inviting environment by ensuring the treatment area is tidy and clean at all times.
  • Attend all training, education, and staff enrichment activities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A valid North Carolina Driver's license with a clear driving record for three (3) years.
  • A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience working in behavioral health, preferably in an eating disorder setting or group home.
