Opportunity Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a travel assignment in Burlington, Massachusetts. This 13-week opportunity will provide you with a chance to work in a dynamic and challenging environment while enjoying the flexibility of traveling.

About the Role

This OR RN position requires you to assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, providing pre- and post-surgery care and education. You will be responsible for preparing instruments and equipment, monitoring patient safety, and communicating effectively with the operating team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic bedside care and administer prescribed medication as needed.
  • Serve as the liaison between patients' family members and the operating team, ensuring clear communication and patient needs are met.
  • Ensure accurate procedures are performed on the correct patient.
  • Develop and implement patient education plans as prescribed by physicians, teaching patients and families how to manage medication and home care needs.
Additional Duties for Circulating OR Nurses:
  • Respond to comfort and safety needs of patients.
  • Accurately handle and care for specimens.
  • Maintain and monitor equipment used during surgery.
  • Conduct inventory of surgical items before and after procedures.
Additional Duties for Scrub OR Nurses:
  • Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures.
  • Conduct inventory of surgical items before and after procedures.
Additional Duties for RN First Assistant:
  • Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care.
  • Help control bleeding and perform suturing.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant.
  • Active ACLS and BLS certifications.
Benefits and Compensation
