About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Blood Collection Specialist to join our team at the American Red Cross. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Donor Engagement: Develop strong relationships with donors, listening to their stories and helping them understand the impact of their donation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to create a welcoming and friendly environment for donors, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
  • Quality Control: Maintain attention to detail to ensure that collected blood meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
  • Logistics and Operations: Assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites, and may drive Red Cross vehicles as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer Service Experience: Proven ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with donors.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights, and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
  • Driver's License: Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare Experience: Prior experience in healthcare or phlebotomy (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.)
  • Leadership Experience: Prior leadership experience in a customer-facing role.
