Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Support Specialist - Program Coordinator to join our team.

About the Role

This role provides general administrative support for departmental programs and projects, ensuring efficient functioning of the administrative office. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with diverse individuals.

The position involves coordinating daily tasks, developing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and performing online systems entry of documents or data involving accounts payable, purchasing, budgeting, and more. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide advising to students and faculty, enter and update student registration information, and assist with new course listings and special formatting for course offerings.

This opportunity also entails planning logistics and providing administrative support for program courses, meetings, and events, including negotiating with vendors, managing event budgets, and troubleshooting special situations that may arise during events. Furthermore, the selected individual will coordinate and manage communications for the school/department/center, including verbal, written, and electronic communications, as well as website updates.

Key responsibilities include scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements, performing other duties as assigned, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a High School diploma or equivalent certification and at least two years of administrative office experience. Intermediate computer skills, including knowledge of computer applications and programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, are essential.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, good organizational and interpersonal communication skills, in-depth knowledge of office procedures, and accuracy and attention to detail.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $24,500 - $37,000 per year, depending on qualifications and performance. In addition to a competitive salary, Washington University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time.

Award-winning health insurance packages with priority appointments and lower copays/coinsurance are also available. Eligible employees can take advantage of a free Metro transit U-Pass and a forgivable home loan of up to $12,500 for closing costs and a down payment in eligible neighborhoods.

Additionally, the university provides a defined contribution (403(b)) Retirement Savings Plan, which combines employee contributions and university contributions starting at 7%.
