Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist

The Indian Health Service is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating digital stationary and portable roentgenological equipment, performing routine fluoroscopy and special examinations, and processing radiographic procedures using computed radiographic equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform digital fluoroscopy, digital C-arm fluoroscopy in surgical suites, and digital portable x-rays in ICU and newborn nurseries.
- Operate teleradiology equipment and PACS equipment in the department, as well as standard diagnostic x-ray procedures.
- Receive requisitions and patients, explain methods of procedures, position patients, and make exposures necessary for requested examinations.
- Schedule patients for examinations and evaluate the nature of critical and emergency procedures.
- Maintain records of patients treated, examinations performed, films taken, and other relevant information.
- Enter proper information into the Radiology Information System to maintain permanent records of examinations.
- Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service, performing difficult radiograph examinations, assuring sterile supplies and equipment are present, and maintaining records of patients treated and examinations performed.
- Must be certified as a radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiology.
- Must have a strong understanding of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The selected candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The position also requires the ability to lift and move equipment, as well as stand for long periods of time.
