We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of School Aftercare Site Leader. This position is responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children after school. The School Aftercare Site Leader will implement structured lesson plans and ensure the overall satisfaction and well-being of program participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend training programs required for the position
  • Implement daily activities for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade planned by the Site Supervisor
  • Take attendance twice daily
  • Be aware of any allergies of participants and how to treat them
  • Keep track of all participants as they rotate through the different areas during the program
  • Make sure all participants are signed in and signed out by the appropriate parent/guardian each day
  • Communicate with participant's parents and other staff in a professional and effective manner on a daily basis
  • Distribute snacks to participants
  • Participate in all activities with participants
  • Other duties as assigned by Dolphin Station Site Supervisor, Recreation Manager, Superintendent of Recreation or Executive Director
  • Ensure the safety and satisfaction of program participants
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are in good working condition and kept in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Provide direction to program participants
  • Administer the program in accordance with the adopted guidelines, policies, and procedures set forth by the District
  • Evaluate program content and relays pertinent information to immediate supervisor
  • Regularly communicate with parents and students
  • Focus on welcoming diversity, encouraging inclusion and creating equity for all.
  • Support the District's safety initiative including adhering to policies and procedures, performing your job in a safe manner, attending required training, seeking additional training as needed, promptly reporting accidents/incidents, and proactively addressing hazards in the workplace.
Requirements
  • Minimum age of 18 years old required
  • Minimum of one year in a supervisory setting with children
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License (Class D)
  • Ability to obtain Training for Mandated Reporters within 30 days of hire
