As a Debt Resolution Specialist at Illinois Educators Credit Union, you'll play a vital role in preserving the credit union's assets by helping members overcome debt challenges. This dynamic position involves analyzing delinquent loan accounts, collaborating with members to develop customized solutions, and maintaining accurate records and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact members regarding delinquent obligations, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Analyze options for workout solutions and make recommendations for collateral recovery and charge-offs.
  • Maintain precise files and reports on collections and recovery activity, identifying trends and forecasting future outcomes.
  • Monitor outside collection agencies and attorneys, posting payments promptly and reviewing Collections Reports with your manager.
  • Provide critical information to management, making recommendations as needed, and referring any suspected fraudulent activity for further investigation.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in collections or a related field, with expertise in interpersonal skills, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Diplomacy and tact in communication, with the ability to resolve first-level conflicts and build relationships.
  • Familiarity with collections terms and processes, as well as Microsoft Office and computer functions.
  • A bachelor's degree preferred, or an Associate's degree with recognized industry certifications equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on experience, plus benefits including 401(k) retirement program, paid holidays, and health/dental/vision insurance.
