About the Job

The Lead Operations Administrator position at Houston Methodist is a critical role that requires strong leadership and operational skills. As a key member of the hospital team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational oversight and leadership throughout the organization. This includes leading initiatives as directed by management, overseeing the Labor Pool, and ensuring timely and effective communication and decision-making in unforeseen situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communication and Decision-Making: Ensure timely and effective communication and decision-making in unforeseen situations, fostering interdepartmental and interprofessional collaboration.
  • Staff Management: Train new employees, assign available personnel, and assess triage assignments to ensure efficient staffing and patient care.
  • Quality and Safety: Monitor and analyze work methods, staff scheduling, and make adjustments to ensure high-quality patient care and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing, with at least five years of hospital experience in nursing, including charge nurse responsibilities. A Master's degree is preferred. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of hospital operations, leadership, and communication skills. Additionally, the candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing
  • Master's degree preferred
Work Experience
  • Five years hospital experience in nursing, including charge nurse responsibilities
  • One year HM Operations Administrator experience
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days
  • RN-Temp - Registered Nurse - Temporary State Licensure within 60 days
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
  • NVCRISIS - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI)
  • Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification
